My hope as a therapist is to be your advocate and support as you walk through and out of the wilderness. I always aim to point clients back to the Lord as their ultimate source of hope and healing, as He is our one constant amidst a chaotic and ever-changing life. My aim is to help provide hope to the hopeless and to equip clients with the right perspective and tools to find meaning in suffering.
I am a state licensed mental health counselor (MH11235) with a B.S. degree from the University of Florida in Family, Youth, & Community Sciences and an M.A. degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Counseling. I am a board member for the Network of Christian Counselors, am Prepare-Enrich certified, and have completed Gottman Level I marriage traiing. I also regularly attend continuing education courses to keep my training relevant and up-to-date.
I approach the treatment process with a blend of styles, often using Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Psychoanalytic Theory, Biblio-theray, and some Psychodrama elements. I always base the therapeutic process in Biblical truth and often pray together with clients if they are comfortable.
My goal is to help clients find hope, joy, peace, and freedom in their current circumstances. My mission is to help "bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom for the captives" (Isaiah 61). This is done by offering a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere where you can authentically walk through your past or current pain and gain the tools and insight needed to seek healing and wholeness. I do not try to force my faith on clients, but always seek to base the therapeutic process on Biblical truths and prayer.
